We are now on day 365,336,000, give or take a day, of subfreezing temperatures, with fresh snow and ice blanketing the country. Cabin fever has definitely set in. Time for every dog’s favorite winter game – in and out of the house! Where we stand by the door demanding to be let out, then come running back inside instantly, only to demand to go back out seconds later. Fun right? So much so, that I even wrote a parody to Bon Jovi’s 1985 classic, “In and Out of Love!”
In and out the house
In and out the house
Cold weather
Somebody turned down the heat
Need a sweater
‘Cause outside it is starting to sleet
It is colder than I’ve ever known
With snowbanks up to Mom’s knees
She’ll let me in when I’ve had enough
Mom’s been trained, puppy lessons learned
In and out the house
It’s what I’m barkin’
In and out the house
It’s the game that we’re playing
In and out the house
Too much is never enough
Gotta get outside!
Running wild
When me and my boys hit the snow
Right on time
I’ve got to go out to pee now
Mom said, “Hold on, do you really have to go?”
“One more time, because I said so!”
One endless game is fine with me
“Please don’t make me repeat this plea!”
In and out the house
It’s what I’m barkin’
In and out the house
It’s the game that we’re playing
In and out the house
When we’re together
In and out the house
Let’s play this forever
In and out the house
Hear what I’m barkin’
In and out the house
It’s the game that we’re playing
In and out the house
Too much is never enough
Gotta get outside!
Out the house
In the house
Out the house
In the house
In and out the house
In and out the house
The temperature’s what? (In and out the house)
You want to go where? (In and out the house)
Hey, just how cold is it now? (In and out the house)
Oh no!
