Our First Adventure 2015

Over the years we have shared very detailed trail reviews. Angel Chuck Billy explained the dog rules, outlined the paw friendly route we took on trail networks, gave recommendations on the difficulty level, and even provided the occasional history lesson. He did none of this for the first adventure he shared on Living with a Golden! So join me for this scaled down ramble along memory lane…

Winter Beach Romp (February 23, 2015)

Yesterday hit 32 degrees!  So what do Mainers do to celebrate?  We head to the beach of course!  Mom and Dad grabbed their Yaktrax ice cleats, I slapped on my GoPro Hero, and we headed off to Fort Foster in Kittery, Maine!

Thanks to dedicated cross country skiers and snowshoers, there were miles of packed snow paths along the shore and inland.  Giving us plenty of places to roam, especially for Asa.  This was his first trip to the ocean, and his first taste of the wider world out there for him to explore.  With the sun on our faces and the smell of sea air, we left Fort Foster with renewed hope that Spring is truly on the way!

There’s a wide world out there Asa, and we can’t wait to show it to you!
The smell of Spring is in the air!
Asa and Chuck Billy on the first of many adventures!

2026 Asa’s Note: Where are the snowshoe trails he mentioned? Angel Chuck Billy didn’t even share the video he filmed on the GoPro until a month later! And what’s with the obvious product placements, but no useful information like parking is only available outside the locked gates in winter? More importantly, why do I look like an itty bitty polar bear lost in the frozen tundra? I guess even Angel Chuck Billy was learning as we went along on this grand adventure!
