Our Unexpected Results

Yesterday I shared with you our exciting archeological dig. Today I will tell you all about what we learned. Sure I can explain in great detail all about the expected finds, but I thought I’d share with you the unexpected results!

The first being digging in the dirt can get a bit messy. I tried to help by keeping my muddy paws off the floor and sleeping with them against the door. But as usual, Mom didn’t appreciate my efforts.

You’d think after all my hard work trying to keep the floor clean, Mom wouldn’t mind a little mud on the door.

Mom does however, have a new appreciation for what Asa and I can accomplish without the use of thumbs. For you see she sprained her thumb while working on the New Stone Age part of our project. Unfortunately, the items we found during the Middle Age period do not seem to be helping her in the least. But just like us, Mom is learning to adapt to life without a thumb. I don’t know what she is complaining about. The other one still works fine.

Our biggest finding though was that a criminal was hiding out from the authorities on our property! As many of you know, those pavers have been sitting in our driveway for three years now. So it was of little surprise when this Golden Toad appeared to supervise our work from his home under the pallet.

Ok, so the fact that the Toad is gold did surprise us.

To be honest, Asa and I felt bad for this little friend because he would soon be homeless, once our project was completed. It darn near broke our hearts when he went back into his home to see what he could rescue before being abruptly evicted.

After three years of living under the stone pallet it was moving day.

However, afterwards when we went to check on him, we were shocked to see our once Golden Toad was now a different color! Clearly he was in disguise hiding out under our pallet and is now on the run from the authorities!

If you see this Toad, do no approach! Repeat: Do NOT Approach! He may be a wanted fugitive in disguise! Or just a disgruntled fan who no longer wants to be golden like us.

I wonder if the archeologists on the tv show Time Team ever had these unexpected results? Oh and speaking of Time Team, here’s something else they never found. We had the stone with the weird writing on it translated. “PeDoghQo” means “Don’t be silly,” in Klingon.

Leave it to Chuck Billy to make an out of this world discovery on an archeological dig.
