It has become our annual Thanksgiving tradition to share Asa’s version of Over the River and Through the Woods for you to sing on your journey as you hit the road or fly the friendly skies today.  From our family to yours, safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving!

Over the river and through the woods,

To Grandmother’s house we go;

The GPS knows back ways to direct the sleigh,

Past traffic detours!

Over the river and through the woods,

Oh, how my tail will wag!

It whacks a beat when it hits Mom’s seat

Along the highway we go, oh!

To have a turkey feast;

We can hardly wait, table surfing tastes great,

Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!

Drive fast, oh Daddy dear!

We’ll jump all around, like a hungry hound!

For this is Thanksgiving Day!

Over the river and through the woods,

We’ll run straight through Grandma’s gate.

We’re extremely excited, won’t she be delighted!

It’s so hard to wait!

Over the river and through the woods,

Now Grandmother’s home I spy!

Hurrah for the fun!  Is the turkey done?

Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
