For over a decade I’ve been sharing photos of me on social media. I realized I’m long overdue to write a song thanking my Mom for all the pictures that she takes on our adventures. Inspired by Darius Rucker’s “Wagon Wheel,” here is my parody, Pawparazzi, dedicated to my Mom and all the other dog paparazzi out there sharing photos on social media!
Hiking Down East in the land of the pines
I’m spending my days in the happy sunshine
Staring up the trail and I wondering if I’ll see Bigfoot
I posed at the coast for what seemed like hours
Sittin’ pretty next to lots of wild flowers
And Mom’s a-snapping her photos, while I patiently stay put
So take my picture by a pretty view
Take my picture visitin’ someplace new
Hey, Pawparazzi
Take my picture in the wind and rain
Take my picture on a country lane
Hey, Pawparazzi
Roaming backroads around New England
I’m a dog rock star traveling looking for old bandstands
My Mommy’s taking pictures, I lost count how many there are now
Oh, Maine’s long cold winters never slow us down
Lost my focus in the snow, ’cause sometimes I’m a goofy clown
But I won’t be looking back at the camera on Wednesdays
So take my picture by a pretty view
Take my picture visitin’ someplace new
Hey, Pawparazzi
Yeah, take my picture in the wind and rain
Take my picture on a country lane
Hey, Pawparazzi
Walking down the street in my neighborhood
Mom caught a picture of me, looking really good
Bet I’ll be sharing it someday to make other folks smile
On Tongue Out Tuesday
And I’ve got a million other photos having fun
I hear my Mommy calling my name, and I know that she can’t take just one
‘Cause she’s taken many pictures of me every day
So take my picture by a pretty view
Take my picture visitin’ someplace new
Hey, Pawparazzi
Oh, take my picture in the wind and rain
Take my picture on a country lane
Hey, Pawparazzi, ooooh!
So take my picture by a pretty view
Take my picture visitin’ someplace new (oh, someplace new)
Hey, hey, Pawparazzi
Pawparazzi, Pawparazzi
Take my picture in the wind and rain (oh)
Take my picture on a country lane
Hey, yeah-yeah, Pawparazzi
You can take me, take me
