Are you and your dog all dressed up and looking for a place to show off your Halloween costumes? Or would you like to see some really creative costumes? Well then on October 31 at 7:00 PM head on down to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the 21st annual Portsmouth Halloween Parade! The Portsmouth Halloween Parade is open to everyone, and invites people in costumes to gather at Peirce Island by Prescott Park. Then join the celebration as the parade winds its way through the streets of downtown Portsmouth. No sign-up is required. The Parade is a grassroots celebration of community and creativity. Hundreds march in costume, thousands cheer from the sidelines, it’s always a spectacle from either side of the curb.
Well behaved dogs are invited to participate, but please note there are sirens, loud noises, live music, and a lot of excitement. So if your dog is not good in crowds or doesn’t like monsters, it may be best to leave fido home. But if your dog loves a party, then join us for this community celebration. Please remember your poop bags so as not mar the parade route for the other participants. All animals must either be on a leash or secured in a cage or container and not run loose during the parade. For more information or to donate to help cover the costs for this community funded event, please visit Portsmouth Halloween Parade.org.
