You know that old scenario where a human sneaks their vegetables to the dog, because they don’t want to eat them? Well what if the reverse happens where it is the dog who is sneaking his veggies to the human because he doesn’t want to eat them? I’m having a bit of a moral dilemma. Mom made a mixture of vegetables for Asa and me, and has been adding it to our kibble. However, we came downstairs to find Dad was eating said bowl of veggies! Apparently it never dawned on him not everything in the fridge is for him, and was oblivious that we’ve been eating it. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t mind sharing. After all this isn’t the first time he tasted our food. Once he absent mindlessly ate a handful of our treats. But now that he ate our food, shouldn’t he share his with us?
Anyways, Mom and my grandmother, Babci, seem to be in agreement that they are just grateful Dad ate vegetables, even if they weren’t for him. After all, he is fussy when it comes to veggies. They also agreed that it is best not to mention to Dad that the spoon used to stir it in with our kibble, also touched the vegetables he ate. Mom is weird about not wanting our food touching theirs. Whatever, Dad probably wouldn’t mind. So long story short, Mom and Babci had a good laugh over this and decided it is best not to reveal the truth.
Asa and I, on the other paw, feel that Dad should know that he ate our veggies. After all it isn’t nice to lie. Besides, maybe if he knew he would share his dinner with us? It’s only fair. Oh who am I kidding? Dad never shares his food with us. But Mom, on the other paw, is a different story. She’s always adding fresh food to our kibble. Since we no longer have veggies for tonight’s dinner, maybe Mom will mix something awesome in with our meal? Steak would certainly be a good substitute! After all who ever heard of a Golden Wolf who eats sweet potatoes and kale? Perhaps we should continue to encourage Dad to eat our vegetables? Sorry Dad, I guess we’re just going to have to keep this secret a bit longer and see what is in our bowl at dinner time.
