This Veterans Day there are THREE great ways that you can make a real difference in the lives of veterans at the 9th Annual Walk and Wag for Veterans to support Operation Delta Dog! On Saturday, November 13, 2021 there will be a 5K run; on Sunday, November 14, 2021 there will be the annual walk; and for a second year there is also a virtual option to participate in either event wherever you choose! All proceeds to support the mission of Operation Delta Dog, to rescue shelter dogs and train them to work as service dogs for disabled veterans who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
This is the first year Operation Delta Dog will be offering a 5K run option. It will be taking place at Mines Falls, in Nashua, New Hampshire from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon, on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Registration is $35 for individuals or $45 if you are running with one dog. In addition to the official race t-shirt for the humans, all dogs registered to participate will receive their own goodie bag. There will also be prizes for the top three male/female finishers in each age category, as well as awards for best human/dog team and best matching outfits for human/dog team. To learn more, go to Operation Delta Dog – 5K Run to the Rescue.
Looking for a more leisurely pace? The annual 2 mile walk will take place on Sunday, November 14, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Great Brook Farm State Park, in Carlisle, MA. Please note this event will be on a Sunday this year, and promises to continue the tradition of being a fun filled day with a scenic walk, food trucks, vendors, music with 100.7 WZLX, amazing raffle prizes, and activities for kids. The event is free, but all walkers are asked to register, and make a donation at Walk and Wag for Veterans. Donations at the event are also very much appreciated.
Both events also offer a virtual registration option. You’ll have all weekend to complete your preferred distance while receiving all the swag and an even an opportunity to submit your race results. Unfortunately you won’t be eligible for awards but you will have the opportunity to download a finishers certificate upon completion. Please visit Operation Delta Dog – 5K Run to the Rescue or Walk and Wag for Veterans for more information and to donate.
All proceeds will benefit Operation Delta Dog, a nonprofit organization with a mission to rescue shelter dogs and train them to work as service dogs for disabled veterans who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The dogs get the homes they need, and the veterans get the help they deserve! Be sure to follow Operation Delta Dog on Facebook or Twitter for all of their latest updates!
