Shedding in a Summer Wonderland

The heatwave is finally over! But that doesn’t mean our shedding will end anytime soon. So to occupy my time while we wait for Mom to take us out to play fetch again, I’ll share with you Asa’s latest parody to the tune of “Walking in a Winter Wonderland!”

It is hot, dogs are panting
In the shade, they are shedding
Furnado warning tonight
Getting brushed a delight
Shedding in a summer wonderland

Dogs do not like this weather
Cooler temps would be better
Can’t frolic and play
In the heat today
Shedding in a summer wonderland

In the meadow, we can build a fur-man
We’ll pretend that he is a snowman
He’ll say, “is it winter?”
We’ll say, “no man!”
“Can’t you feel the temperature in town?!”

Later on, we’ll perspire
As Mom eat s’mores by the fire
To face unafraid
Another hot day
Shedding in a summer wonderland

In the meadow, we can build a fur-dog
And pretend that he’s another pup
We’ll have lots of fun with Mr. Fur-dog
Until the wind blows him all around

When it’s hot, ain’t it thrilling
When your Dad starts a grilling
At least we’ll eat okay
While panting away
Shedding in a summer wonderland
Shedding in a summer wonderland
Shedding in a summer wonderland!

I feel cooler already!
