Spring Reverie

This is the hardest time of year for dogs.  The lull between Winter and Spring.  Oh don’t get me wrong, I love Winter!  Especially the fact that I can dig holes in the snow to my heart’s content and no one yells at me to stop.  But now the snow is dingy and yellow, and has lost it’s appeal.  You think playing fetch in 4 feet of fresh snow is hard?  Try playing in two feet of melting snow.  It has the consistency of quicksand!

Oh how I long for the pleasures of Spring!  Soon the snow will recede, and reveal long forgotten toys hidden beneath.  Mud will also reappear.  Glorious, fragrant mud perfect to roll in!  The world will also become lush and green again.  Everyone knows Spring grass tastes the best!  But alas I must wait for it all to return.  In the meantime the sun is shining, so I will soak up it’s warmth while enjoying my bone al fresco.
