Mark your calendars and join us on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the 22nd Annual Tails to Trails Walk to benefit the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. Taking place on the Strafford County Courthouse lawn (259 County Farm Road, Dover, NH), Tails to Trails is the dog event of the summer, filled with games, pet friendly vendors, and contests. There will also be demonstrations, including one by our friend Jenn of Pampered Paws K9 Massage!
Led by CVHS staff with adoptable shelter dogs, the Pledge Walk for the animals kicks off at 12:30 PM, and follows a 1-mile path through the woods near the shelter along the Cocheco River. Participants can walk with or without their own dogs and a shorter walk path is available for those looking for less of a challenge. While on the walk, keep your eyes peeled along the trail for hidden prizes, including 10 gold-plated Milkbones donated by Jewelry Creations!
Immediately following the walk is the very entertaining Canine Capers at 1:00 PM, where dogs can compete for best kisser, best costume, and musical sit. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in all three contests. Register your dog for one contest or take part in all three! Winners will be selected by a panel of guest judges. Please visit the Canine Capers booth during the event to register for the contests.
Walkers are encouraged to pre-register and collect pledges before Tails to Trails on June 4. However, registrations on the day of the event are always welcomed. Prizes will be awarded to the top adult and youth (under 16) individual and team pledge collectors. All proceeds from this great event will benefit the animals of the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. For more information on this fun filled fundraiser, including a list of vendors and demonstrations, please visit Cocheco Valley Humane Society. Please note that the Rain Date will be Sunday, June 5, 2016.
