Tennis Balls Grow on Trees

My silly little brother would like to share with you today his major “discovery.”  So without further ado, here’s Asa: Recently on my evening walk I made a huge discovery – tennis balls grow on trees!  We were visiting a neighbor when my eyes locked on this awesome tree growing in the far corner of their yard.  I couldn’t believe my eyes.  The tree was covered in tiny tennis balls!  Immediately I dragged my Mom over to take a closer look, and sure enough there were small tennis balls growing on every branch!

Chuck Billy, our resident know it all, just laughed at me.  According to him, this is an apple tree, and my “tennis balls” would actually grow into the crunchy balls he likes to pick up by a tree further down the road on our walk.  He even added if Dad’s “stick trees” ever grow, we’ll have apples on them too.  Does he think I’m an idiot?!  Clearly these are tennis balls in their infant state.  Where else would they come from?  But I suppose Chuck Billy would rather tell me tall tales than the truth.  Because as with all awesome toys, he obviously doesn’t want to share them with me.
