Hi Chuck Billy! Well here we are on the one year anniversary of you going over Rainbow Bridge to be with Angel Lemmy. You know how my year has been based on these monthly check-ins, and you’re always watching over us for the stuff I may have not mentioned. But what about you! What have you been up to this past year?
When you last saw Lemmy, you were barely 2 years old, and very much a puppy. He must be so proud to see what a mature and responsible dog you’ve become. I’m sure he was very interested in hearing how you expanded his early warnings on dog UFO abductions into numerous groundbreaking theories, leading you to become a renowned Dog Ufologist! You certainly have gone a long way in expanding his research from those early days sitting in a UFO bunker during the Merry Mayan Apocalypse in 2012. In fact, scientists have spotted you zipping through the universe in your flying object called 3I/Atlas! What a learning curve that must have been from sending a meteor to us to let us know you crossed safely, to piloting your own spacecraft!
Speaking of learning curve, you’ve certainly learned a lot of impressive new skills this year! Like how to operate Mother Nature’s snowmaking machine. Last winter was the snowiest in a long time, thank you! I also appreciate that you held off sending snow this year until I was feeling better and could play again. But while you held off on my delivery, you’ve been very generous sending snow to a lot of our friends! You even sent snow this December to friends who rarely see snow, especially this time of year. You’re very thoughtful about including friends in one of your favorite pastimes.
And now you can actually hang out with so many of our friends who you were only able to chat with on social media before. Oh the grand adventures you must all be going on! I’m sure you have led many trips exploring the mountains, beaches, woods and fields at the Bridge! Also is it safe for me to assume you’re singing along the way now? I only ask because your DJ skills this past year have been very impressive. We knew instantly you were behind Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” playing on the radio when we left Dog Mountain, after paying tribute to you in the chapel. And even Dad couldn’t deny that was your perfect timing to have Bon Jovi’s “Reunion” cued up after leaving our happy place in Lubec. I knew you secretly liked my carpool karaoke on our roadtrips!
Thanks too for sending all those other signs this past year that you’re still with us every step of the way. I’m truly touched that with all the fun you’re having now at the Bridge, you still make time for us. Guiding us onward on our adventures as our North Star, and being our anchor on the stormy days. So many times I’ve felt you by my side just like in the old days.
So now that we’ve reached the one year anniversary of you moving to Rainbow Bridge, how do they mark the occasion there? Will you be having a big celebration of life party, surrounded by friends? Or will it be a more low key day, playing fetch with Grandpa and Lemmy, while reflecting on the incredible grand adventure you enjoyed during your 12 years here? Perhaps you’re heading off on another adventure, showing recently arrived friends all the wonderful places at Rainbow Bridge? Or maybe you’ll be spending the day watching over us. It is cold and blustery here today. But rumor has it when it warms up, we’ll be heading to your favorite beach to celebrate your life well lived!
What an exciting year this must have been for you! I look forward to the signs you send in the year ahead, as your adventures at the Bridge continue. I promise to also continue my adventures here too, and will periodically check in with you with updates. Thanks for continuing to watch over us. Miss you! Love you, Chuck Billy! See you at the end of the trail…
