The Cats of Christmas Present

The Cats were listening to begin with. This must be understood or else nothing truly magical can come from the theory I am about to relate. Today’s post is brought to you by me, Asa, because my brother isn’t the only one with a theory about cats! Yesterday Chuck Billy shared a scientific study on how Cats can track our moves without being in the room with us, and applied it to his Christmas Cat Conspiracy Theory that they are spies for Santa. In his post, Chuck Billy argues that Cats are an “invisible presence” always monitoring us. This got me thinking. What if Cats aren’t like Elves watching our every move to report to Santa? What if Cats are more like the ghosts in A Christmas Carol, and want to help dogs?

Cats could be like Scrooge’s friend, the Ghost of Jacob Marley, silently watching Dogs make bad decisions, yet wanting to reach out to us to change our ways. Perhaps that random Cat who appears in our yard from time to time, isn’t so random? What if it is the Cat of Christmas Present coming to help us? But Chuck Billy annoys him with all his barking, so he leaves?

Therefore this December I recommend all Dogs should embrace the Cats in their lives and listen to what they have to say! Well maybe not physically embrace. Because they do have awfully sharp claws. But figuratively embrace the lessons these Cats want to teach us, so that we all can happily coexist! And should on the off-chance Chuck Billy’s theory be correct, it wouldn’t hurt to be kind to them to get on Santa’s Nice List.

Without their visits, you cannot hope to shun the Naughty List. Expect the first Cat, when the bell tolls One…or anytime really. Cats don’t seem to work on a schedule.
