Unexplained objects flying at speeds that defy the laws of physics. Reverse engineering of crashed alien technology. Threats and physical harm to those seeking answers. Sounds like the plot of a blockbuster UFO movie, tv series, or documentary, right? But it was actually groundbreaking testimony under oath, before a bipartisan committee, streamed live for the public record. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, was a monumental day for ufology!
The House Oversight subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs heard testimony from witnesses regarding transparency and unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), more commonly known as UFOs. Specifically the hearings were to address recent whistleblower accusations that the United States government has been concealing evidence of non-human aircrafts and non-human biologics, while participating in secret UAP programs.
Testifying were three retired military veterans: Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot; David Fravor, a former Navy commander; and David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official. Graves and Fravor each had eyewitness sightings, and Grusch who recently filed a whistleblower complaint with U.S. Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General, worked as part of the Pentagon’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force. As a Dog Ufologist, I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around their testimonies given under oath. I mean there have been theories since the incident at Roswell in the 1940s regarding government coverups of UFOs, but to hear it actually being discussed for public record on a live broadcast in front of a bipartisan committee is mind boggling!
Now keep in mind, due to the sensitivity of national security, many of the answers were classified and could not be shared during the hearings. Several lawmakers even indicated that they had attempted to arrange for a sensitive compartmented information facility, or SCIF, which is used for briefings on top-secret information, but had been denied. However, the message that came across loud and clear was both military and commercial pilots have seen technology that is unexplainable, yet it is grossly underreported, and we need a more universal way for these sightings to be reported and investigated without the current stigma associated with it.
As Graves, who has witnessed unidentified aerial phenomena multiple times off the Atlantic coast, stated, “If UAP are foreign drones, it is an urgent national security problem. If it is something else, it is an issue for science. In either case, unidentified objects are a concern for flight safety.” He noted that discussions on these sightings have become a somewhat routine part of briefings for military pilots, but yet those that did come forward often faced administrative harassment and career consequences for speaking out. Graves went on to state, “Right now we need a system where pilots can report without fear of losing their jobs.” Graves continued, “There is a fear that the stigma related to this topic is going to lead to professional repercussions either through management or through their yearly physical check.” There needs to be more transparency as to what is happening in our skies. “I urge us to put aside stigma and address the security and safety issue this topic represents,” Graves said. “The American people deserve to know what is happening in our skies. It is long overdue.”
Case in point, Fravor, who was an eyewitness to the infamous “Tic Tac incident” in 2004 testified that, “the technology that we faced was far superior than anything that we had.” The fastest aircrafts on earth could not come close to the speeds that object reached, nor is anyone’s scientific capabilities on this planet able to just sit still at thousands of feet, with no visible exhaust or propulsion, before rocketing off at angles that defy logic. Yet he and the other eyewitnesses that day only underwent a standard debriefing. “No one else talked to (him)” about the incident, despite the fact the object could maneuver in a way that defied current scientific technology, and could potentially pose a significant national security threat. Fravor stated that more data should have been collected and analyzed. However, the current system is plagued with overclassification, in which information is locked away and unaccessible.
Grusch took the testimonies to a whole new level by stating under oath that through his work on the Pentagon’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force, he has knowledge that the US government has “intact and partially intact” alien vehicles, has recovered “non-human biologics” from crashed UAPs, and that individuals have been injured while working on reverse engineering UAPs. However, Grusch could not go into more detail due to the classified nature of this information. He also made it clear that he has been told this by others while conducting his investigations on an official capacity, and he did not have firsthand information. “That’s something I’ve not witnessed myself,” he stated. Yet Grusch told the panel he could provide a list of “cooperative and hostile witnesses” who could provide Congress with more information about the programs related to UAPs. He reiterated what Graves and Fravor said that due to the stigma, as well as the harassment of people who work to investigate them, efforts to understand UAPs are being hindered.
These three men are all reputable, with long and credible military careers. They are not the usual types we see on UFO documentaries discussing conspiracy theories, who have questionable backgrounds and agendas. All stated their reason for coming forward was due to a sense of duty for the safety of the country. In a rapid fire of questions for all three, they were asked if they believed the UAPs were on reconnaissance missions, probing our capabilities, testing for vulnerabilities, and a potential threat. They all answered in the affirmative. The session ended with a promise by the members of the House Oversight subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs to keep this dialogue moving forward from this historic and monumental hearing.
