The Queen in Her Candy Castle

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that my Queen Bee, Queen Elizzzabeth, has passed away.  I was suspicious that she was in failing health because my hive was lagging behind Asa’s in honey production and eggs.  But I held out hope for my beloved Queen.  After all we did vanquish the Field Mice, so thought for sure her kingdom would thrive once more.  However, upon closer inspection it has been confirmed that my Queen Honeybee has died.

Queen Elizzzabeth’s loyal subjects are keeping a stiff upper lip and continuing to gather pollen and make honey.  They even are attempting to make a new Queen.  However that takes time.  To help ensure the survival of my hive Mom and Dad drove for hours this weekend to buy me a new Queen Bee, who shall be known as Queen Elizzzabeth II.  To be honest, I’m still sad about my first Queen.  So I’m not too sure I like that Mom and Dad rushed out to buy me a new one.  Shouldn’t there be time for me to mourn before welcoming a new pet?

Well what’s done is done.  In order for the Honeybees to accept their new Queen they must rescue her from her candy castle, otherwise they may see her as an intruder and commit regicide.  Who knows, that may have been what happened to the previous Queen?  The proletariat can be so moody sometimes.  Anyways, Queen Elizzzabeth II is safe in her castle, and the Bees are hard at work eating the sugar candy keeping her trapped inside.  It appears she will be rescued soon, and able to ascend to the throne of the Chuck BEEly hive.  Paws crossed all will be right in my kingdom once more.

As for Asa, would you believe he’s happily singing, “We Are The Champions!”  He is such a jerk!  Oh sure his Queen Bee, “Queensryche,” is doing a phenomenal job.  Asa’s hive is dripping in honey and is even crowded with all the new Bees.  In fact they’re doing so good Dad had to add the another box to it.  The Azzza hive looks like Trump Towers compared to mine.  But this isn’t a competition.  Must Asa gloat about it?  My pet Queen Bee has died!  My kingdom is in turmoil!

Now if you please excuse me, I need to pay proper respect to Queen Elizzzabeth II.  Queen Honeybees are all about the pomp and circumstance, you know…

“God save our gracious Queen
Long live our noble Queen
God save the Queen
Send her victorious
Happy and glorious
Long to reign over us
God save the Queen…”

Within this box is the future of my kingdom.

Within this box is the future of my hive…
