Lace up those sneakers and grab your leashes, it’s time to take a walk to help shelter animals! Although the annual Tails to Trails walk is postponed, you can still support the Pope Memorial Humane Society by participating in the 2020 Pets 2 the Rescue Virtual Walk for the Animals! The staff at the Pope Memorial Humane Society (formerly the Cocheco Valley Humane Society) have teamed up with Pets 2 the Rescue for a 1 mile and 5K virtual run/walk/bike to raise money for the animals in their care.
Register by June 8, 2020 for just $10 and 100% of your registration fee goes to PMHS-CV. Please note that there is an additional $3.25 processing fee.
How does it work? 3 easy steps:
1. Register for the virtual 1 mile or virtual 5K walk/run or 5 mile bike ride any time between now and June 15. During registration you will be asked to choose your participating shelter and team. Be sure to select Pope Memorial Humane Society and 100% of your $10 registration fee will go to PMHS-CV. You can also choose to make an additional donation when you register.
2. Walk or run the distance you registered for or bike any distance you want. Record your time/distance using the free ItsYourRace (IYR) app to automatically record it or just make a note of your time. However, please observe social distancing guidelines when participating in this event.
3. Submit your time online. The free “IYR Virtual” mobile app will do this automatically, or you may enter your time manually by clicking the “Update Time” button next to your name in the race results for your regional event. Everyone who submits their time is entered in a drawing for prizes.
Just remember that Registration ends June 8, 2020 and you have until June 15, 2020 to submit your results. It’s that easy!
