Waddles Gets the Win

Well that was awkward, but with my quick thinking no one suspected a thing. Or at least that’s what I hope! I was playing the nose work game with Dad. You know, it’s the game where he hides a specific scent, and I sniff it out. Well when searching one room, I found a stuffed animal friend that the Easter Bunny left for me, but I totally forgot about in my excitement that day. Poor Waddles must have felt so sad being left alone in that room! However, I quickly devised a plan.

After investigating the room for the hidden scent, I nonchalantly picked up Waddles and brought her to the next room. Dad thought I forgot we were playing his game. Trust me, I didn’t forget. I just wanted to make Waddles feel included. I gently placed her in the center of that room, before continuing my search for the scent. Then I carried her to the next area to be searched.

Over and over again I repeated this throughout the house until I found the scent. However, rather than alert Dad that I found it, I returned to where I last left Waddles, picked her up, and placed her on top of the scent’s hiding place. Dad totally caught on to my plan, and congratulated Waddles for finding the scent! She felt so happy, that she squeaked with joy as I celebrated her big win!

Perhaps moving forward I should include her every time I play this game? Dad did ponder if they allow comfort stuffies during competitions. I’m still pondering something too. Is Waddles a duck or a chicken? Ah who cares! We are nose work besties, and that’s all that matters!
