We’d Never Act That Way

After weeks of staying at home, Mom and Dad are starting to annoy us. From naps for no apparent reason during the day, to staying up late or waking before dawn, to demanding cuddles and bothering us to play with them when Asa and I are clearly busy, Mom and Dad are being very annoying! You’d never catch Asa or myself acting that way!

For example, Mom and Dad both get very excited each time the UPS or FedEx trucks slow down in front of our house. They run to the window to watch full of anticipation, only to be incredibly disappointed that the drivers didn’t stop. Which by the way makes me question how much stuff have they ordered in the past that the trucks automatically slow down in front of our house? Anyways, you should see how Mom and Dad gaze longingly out the window at those passing delivery trucks.

Oh and don’t even get me started on how they behave when they see someone walk past the house! They immediately start asking each other, “Who’s that?” “Where do they live?” “Is that the family who lives in the gray house or the blue?” If they recognize them, they get even more chatty! “Oh look that’s Charlie walking his family! Hi Charlie! He’s such a good dog! I wonder what his humans’ names are?” Enough with all the annoying talking! I’m trying to concentrate here!

Speaking of neighbors walking, Mom and Dad now look forward to their daily walks more than we do! Whereas Asa and I are doing everything in our power to keep them safe and away from other humans, Mom and Dad insist on waving at everyone they see! Thankfully they remember their heel and continue to walk by our side. But you should see how happy it makes them just to see someone, even from a distance! They’ve also increased our walks to multiple times a day, which is exhausting for me. However, as the old saying goes, “a tired human, is a happy human.” Therefore Asa and I are more than happy to give them plenty of exercise so they leave us alone in the evening when we want to relax after dinner.

Dinner is another new obsession for Mom and Dad. They start discussing what they will have for dinner usually while eating breakfast. It’s as if it is the highpoint of their day! In fact, one day Dad even asked if it was too early to eat dinner. It was only 3:00 in the afternoon! Even I don’t bother Mom two hours before dinnertime, and I LOVE dinner! But I have to admit this is the least annoying of their new habits.

Now if you’ll please excuse us, apparently it is time to take Mom and Dad on yet another walk!
