Kingman Farm Trail in Madbury, New Hampshire is a popular destination for dog friendly winter hiking. A very active trail, on the day we visited we saw snowshoers, cross country skiers, snow bikers, and even a horse! Yet with approximately 334 acres, Kingman Farm Trail does not feel crowded and offers open fields and extensive trails for hiking. Maintained by the University of New Hampshire, please note that some trails are temporarily closed this winter due to conservation work. However, detours are clearly marked and there are plenty of alternative trails for a great day of hiking.
Dogs are required to be on leash. Although we met several dogs enjoying the trails off leash, we recommend obeying the rules because the property does boarder the Bellamy River and there several small ponds and wetlands along the trails that may be tempting to dogs despite the icy water. The parking lot is not plowed during the winter, but due to the popularity the bigger issue is finding an open spot to park.
