It’s guaranteed to be a groovy day for the whole family at Woofstock to benefit the Animal Welfare Society! This FREE dog friendly festival takes place this Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the grounds of their shelter at 46 Holland Road in Kennebunk, Maine, with proceeds to benefit AWS’ Companions for Life Fund.
You’ll have a fab time rocking the day away to live music by the Kennebunk River Band, and Golden oldies by Seacoast Oldies, while the kids have a far out time participating in activities in the Woofstock Kids Zone. Hopefully your dog won’t be dazed and confused when he tries his paw at their obstacle course, as well as other activities. Then you can hang loose meeting the funky felines and psychedelic pooches available for adoption. You may even have a blast joining them on a pack walk on the AWS’ nature trails. You’ll also be stoked to try your luck for the many great raffle prizes.
Don’t forget your money so you can enjoy delicious snacks at the Food Truck Court, and for those 21+ with proper ID, enjoy sampling local brews in the Beer Garden. Blaze Brewing Company will release their cream ale, “Bark,” especially for Woofstock. Bark is a collaborative fundraiser between Blaze and Meet York County, with proceeds from sales to benefit the Animal Welfare Society. Can’t make the event? Look for Bark at fine retailers throughout Southern Maine. New this year will be non-alcoholic bone-broth based, Dog Beer, for the 4 legged attendees. Also take time from the action to visit the Vendors for fun items to purchase, groovy giveaways and information on animal nonprofits! Be sure to stop by Fuzzy Angel Portraits’ booth to say “hi” to Meredith, a longtime supporter of this great event.
Proceeds from AWS Woofstock benefit the Companions for Life Fund, providing veterinary care to pets in need in the community. AWS’ mission is to “provide humane care and kindness to animals in need – whether it is an AWS resident awaiting a new home, or belonging to a member of our greater community.” They do it through their Community Veterinary Clinic. Opened in 2018, the Clinic is a full-service practice, offering a wide array of affordable services and procedures to provide high-quality care to feline and canine patients, that is accessible to everyone. But they can’t do it without community support! So come on down to Woofstock, for a fun time for a good cause!
