Win great prizes while supporting Veterans and rescue animals at the Charity Bingo and Vendor Fair to benefit Chris’ Pets for Vets, this Friday, March 30, 2018.  There will be 18 rounds of Bingo played for vendor prizes, with 3 breaks to shop at the 22 vendors that will be in attendance.  There will also be raffles for prizes and gift certificates, with all proceeds to benefit the important mission of Chris’ Pets for Vets.

Sponsored by MCC Veterans, Kappa Beta Delta and Helping Hands Club, the event takes place at the Manchester Community College Student Center (1066 Front Street, Manchester NH) from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM.  The evening will begin with a ceremony honoring invited Veterans from WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Iraq, as well as all Veterans in attendance.  Bingo cards will be sold in packs of 5, 10, or 15 for $1 per card.  Veterans will receive 5 free rounds of Bingo.  Prizes have a minimum value of $25.  In addition to the game, this event will showcase local, small businesses with products for sale including: Damsel in Defense, Pampered Chef, Arbonne, Jordan Essentials, Thirty One, Rodan & Fields, Hayleys Pet Boutique, LuLaRoe, Traveling Vineyard, and more!  All proceeds will benefit Chris’ Pets for Vets, which provides companion pets from local animal shelters to Veterans at no charge.

Chris’ Pets for Vets is a program of Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund that partners with local animal rescue shelters to provide companion pets to current military and Veterans at no charge to the family. Working with the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover, NH,  Chris’ Pets for Vets pays 100% of the adoption fee.  Companion animals can make a tremendous difference in the life of a Veteran, especially one who is suffering from PTSD.  Chris’ Pets for Vets was created in honor of Christopher Journeau for PTSD awareness.  Chris served with the US Army, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team while fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  At the age of 23 and six months after his return home to Stratham, NH, he took his own life.  The end result was he had been suffering from PTSD and nobody knew it until it was too late.  Chris’ Pets for Vets works with local animal shelters to pair Veterans with a free pet, so they can more easily deal with PTSD, helping to heal the deep emotional scars, and possibly save their lives.
