Congratulations Lemmy!

Congratulations Lemmy!  You did it again!  I am proud to announce that a photo of my big brother Lemmy was selected to be in “Kingdom Animalia” at the Whistler House Museum of Art!  Ok, so I probably should give credit to Uncle Rob for this achievement, because he took the photo.  But either way, we’re all very excited because this will be Lemmy’s third juried art show.

Lemmy began his modeling career for Uncle Rob as a young pup way back in 2008 for “Going to the Dogs” at The Brush Art Gallery.  Lemmy soon discovered though that modeling was serious business.  In an email to his Momma Butter, Lemmy described the trials and tribulations of his career choice.  “Now I know what you’re thinking, that the life of a Super Model is all glitz and glamour.  But in reality it is a lot of hard work.  Uncle Rob wanted me to be serious, and kept telling me not to smile; and Dad got in trouble for brushing me too fluffy.  Attached are the pictures that Mom took at the grueling photoshoot.”

After his initial fame, Lemmy took a break from the spotlight to pursue his personal interests.  But when Uncle Rob came knocking in 2013 for “Salty Dogs: A Maritime Legacy” at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Lemmy couldn’t resist the lure of being in yet another exhibit.  Especially since this one had a nautical theme.  After all, Lemmy loved the ocean and was named after Mom’s seafaring ancestor.  Not to brag, but a photo of me was also submitted to this exhibit.  I received honorable mention and was included in the online slideshow.

Now even though Lemmy has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, he is once again gracing the walls of an art gallery.  It’s kind of fitting that Mom got the news this past weekend.  It was a very special Mother’s Day surprise for Mom and Momma Butter, who both deeply miss their special boy.  If you happen to find yourself in Lowell, Massachusetts between May 11 and June 16, please take a moment to stop by the Whistler House Museum of Art (243 Worthen Street) to check out Lemmy: Nocturne in Grey and Gold at the “2016 Juried Members Exhibition: Kingdom Animalia.”  Asa and I are so proud of him, and I bet Lemmy can’t help but smile at his latest achievement.  Thanks Uncle Rob!
