CPR and First Aid Class for Pets

Research done by the American Animal Hospital Association has shown that 60% of all animal hospital visits are emergency in nature and that 1 out of 4 more pet’s lives could be saved if just one first aid technique was delivered before veterinary care. Therefore, we at Living with a Golden highly recommend taking Healthy Pets NH’s CPR and First Aid Class for Pets taught by April Begosh. This 6 hour hands-on workshop covers everything from basic first aid to what to do in an emergency situation, and is a must for all pet owners.

The workshop moves quickly and a lot of valuable information is presented in an easy to understand approach through lecture, demonstrations and hands-on practice.  April also gears the class to fit the needs of the participants and their specific questions.  Although this is a serious subject, April’s approach is at times lighthearted, and does involve a cat joke or two.

The CPR and First Aid for Pets class will cover over 50 different lifesaving skill sets that you can use prior to veterinary care.  Information includes what to do if your pet is choking or not breathing, how to safely mobilize for transport an animal with a broken leg, and restraining and muzzling an injured pet.  It also addresses seasonal concerns of what to do if your dog is overheated or has a reaction to a bug bite.  For a complete list of topics to be covered, please visit Healthy Pets NH.

Please do not bring your dog to class, stuffed practice dogs will be used for training purposes.

Sorry Asa, you will not be certified to drive the ambulance in an emergency, but we’ll be certified to do pet CPR with this course by Healthy Pets NH.
