And so it begins. Mom’s determination to festoon every inch of this house with some sort of Christmas decoration. Even Asa and myself are not spared from her insatiable desire to decorate everything for the Holidays. So while we hide from her merriment, here is Asa’s twist on the Holiday classic “Deck the Halls,” or as he calls it, “Deck the Dogs!”
Deck the Dogs with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
‘Tis the season for humans’ folly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our ugly sweaters
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la
Though we have fur for this weather
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
See the tempting tree before us
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Not sure why all of the fuss?
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Mom follows me in merry measure
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
While I run off with a Yuletide treasure
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Fast away our dignity passes
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Time to ignore our obedience classes
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Bark we joyous, all together
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Now Mom keeps me on a short tether!
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la!
