Did Someone Say Shenanigans?

Top o’ the morning to you! I’ve been a wild rover for many a year, and I’ve spent all my money on shamrocks and hats. Despite Chuck O’Billy saying “No, nay never no more!” I convinced him to jig with me down memory lane…

Alright, enough with trying to sing today’s post to the tune of “Wild Rover,” but I would like you to take a gander as I share the evolution of St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans in our home.

Although known for being more on the serious side, Lemmy believed everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, and would celebrate accordingly.

Then Chuck Billy came along and put an end to his blarney.

All that changed though when in 2015 a wee leprechaun joined the family….

…and knew it was time to get the shenanigans started!

Despite Chuck Billy’s protests of “No, nay never no more!”…

…the Wild Rover persisted, with the most rousing version of “Let the People Sing,” you ever did hear!

“Ireland, land of song
Your music lives forever
In its valleys, in its mountains
In its hills and in its glens
Our music did survive
Through famine and oppression
To the generations gone
I’ll sing for you this song!”

Perhaps it was the song, or more likely whiskey in the jar, (or in this case water bowl), but soon Chuck Billy was crooning O’Danny Boy with the best of them!

Then came the jokes! Q: What do you get when you cross poison ivy and a four leaf clover? A: A rash of good luck! Alright, even I agree with Chuck Billy that I may have pushed my luck with that joke.

Which brings us to St. Patrick’s Day 2023! Does anyone know where I can get some bagpipes?

Asa: That’s why they call me Mr. Shenanigans! Chuck Billy: No one calls you that. Asa: Well they should! Chuck Billy: You are such an eejit!
