Every Toy Loses Squeak

Asa here. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching I’m feeling a little sentimental. I dedicate this song to all the toys I’ve hurt. I’m sorry. I’m also sorry to Bret Michaels of Poison, for writing a better song about heartbreak and loss. There’s a lot more to worry about this Valentine’s Day than “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.” Sometimes love has bigger consequences…

My toy lies silently still on the living room floor
Although we both lie close together, I feel there’s something wrong inside
Was it something I bit or something I ripped?
Did your squeaker fall out last night?
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that’s why they say

Every toy loses squeak
Just like all the bacon, dogs can’t eat
Just like every dire wolf howls a sad, sad song
Every toy loses squeak

Yeah it does

I listen to Chuck Billy playing with his favorite ball
Hear Chuck Billy bark, “love’s a game of easy come and easy go.”
But I wonder does he know?
How my toy ended up like this?
And I know that you’d be squeaking now
If I didn’t bite into you somehow
I guess

Every toy loses squeak
Just like all the bacon, dogs can’t eat
Just like every dire wolf howls a sad, sad song
Every toy loses squeak

Though it’s been awhile now
Since I caused you so much pain
After my Mom sews up your soft fluff
But that scar, that scar remains

I know I could have saved your squeak that night if I’d known how to play
Instead of makin’ noise you went silent today
And now you hear I found somebody new
And that you never meant that much to me
Because I tore up your insides
I’m sorry I cut you like a knife
I guess

Every toy loses squeak
Just like all the bacon, dogs can’t eat
Just like every dire wolf howls a sad, sad song
Every toy loses squeak…

I’m sorry Penguin… *sigh*
