Filling with Anticipation

Dear Mother Nature, I’m filling with anticipation.  For Christmas?  No!  For snow!  The month of December is half over, and yet there has been no measurable snowfall here in southern Maine.  This is an outrage!  Mother Nature, I understand you probably have Holiday errands and parties to attend like the rest of us, but surely you can’t be too busy to send a little snow our way.

Ok, ok, I know I was a little harsh with you last spring when snow lingered on the ground well into April.  Also I may have grumbled a bit about the record breaking snowfall last winter.  However, at this festive time of year a little snow is greatly appreciated.  Oh how I long to roll in the snow, dig to great depths without getting reprimanded, and laugh at the confused look on Asa’s face when he searches for snowballs that disappear when they hit the snow covered ground.  But I guess I must accept that you have a plan, and that you haven’t forgotten us.  Also I should appreciate the gift you’ve given us of warm December beach romps.  So I guess I will continue to wait for the magical first snowflakes to fall, and in the meantime enjoy the outdoor activities I couldn’t do in two feet of snow.

Tail Wags,

Chuck Billy
