Grab your leashes and head to the Oxford Fairgrounds for the the 6th Annual Fun Dog Day! This tail wagging fundraiser will be taking place on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Oxford Fairgrounds (68 Pottle Road, Oxford, ME). Hosted by Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills, Fun Dog Day has something for every member of your family with two legs and four. In addition to the fundraiser walk, there will be shopping with local vendors and crafters, delicious food, and activities for kids in the Pup Tent. K9s Aros, Samson and Bolo of the Maine State Police will also be there to show off their crime fighting skills. For four legged attendees, there will be games and activities, as well as Wayne’s Water World to keep your dog cool and refreshed. Furry Kids Pet Photography will also be there to take a keepsake photo of you and your pup at Fun Dog Day. Also don’t forget to enter your pet into the Dog Show with a variety of categories so that every pup participating can shine!
New this year they’ve added a Poker Walk! An envelope with 3 cards will be given as each “hand” at the start of the walk, with 4 additional cards being picked up at stations along the route. The best 5 cards out of 7 will be posted, and the top two winners will get cash prizes! To enter the Poker Walk you must be 18 years or older, and the cost is $10. Registration will be between 9:45 AM and 10:15 at the Oxford Fair Grounds, to fill out the paperwork in advance visit Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills.
The Fundraiser 1k Walk is open to all ages and steps off at 10:30 AM. You can download a waiver to fill out in advance or sign up that morning at Fun Dog Day. Registration is $15 for individuals with proceeds to benefit the shelter for the care of animals. There will also be prizes for the top fundraisers, so be sure to ask your friends to pledge!
Entry to Fun Dog Day is a suggested donation of $3 a person or $10 for a carload. All proceeds from the 6th Annual Fun Dog Day will benefit the important work of Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills. Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills provides a safe and comfortable environment for dogs and cats from Oxford County, Maine that have become lost or have been abandoned. They are a no-kill, nonprofit shelter, who help over 700+ animals yearly, by reuniting lost dogs with their families and helping cats and kittens find their forever home.
