Fun Fall Events for Dogs 2019

Dogs, whether you’re looking to get a jump start on trick or treating, watch a unique way to play football, or just want to get out and strut your stuff for a good cause, there’s something for every dog to enjoy this weekend! For more information, please click on the highlighted name.

Dover Dog Howloween Celebration and Parade: Dover Dog Howloween is a community celebration and gathering of dog lovers and owners dressed in family friendly costumes with their canines. On Saturday, October 19, 2019, meet at Sit.Stay.Smile. Pet Photography’s parking lot (24 Chestnut Street, Dover, NH) between 12 Noon – 1:00 PM to register and receive a number for the costume contest or preregister online. Then at 1:00 PM the costume parade will head up First Street to Central Avenue, with trick-or-treating at participating businesses on Central Avenue. At 2:30 PM all contestants will gather at Cocheco Mill Courtyard for the announcement of the winners. Cash prizes will be awarded. Must be present to win. The event is FREE! Proceeds to benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society, formerly the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.

Three Piece Suit Football: On Saturday, October 19, 2019, come out to watch the 7th annual charity football game supporting Massachusetts veterans through Operation Delta Dog! FREE admission and all are welcome to enjoy this fun for all ages event, which features a game of tackle football played by men and women in three-piece suits! For the fifth year in a row, this event will be held at Rogers Park in Brighton, MA. To support the charity, TPSF members will be selling $10 raffle tickets leading up to and during the event, with a chance to win $1,000 cash and other prizes! There are also VIP Reception tickets available for $25 that include 4 drink tickets and access to food during the event. Proceeds to benefit Operation Delta Dog’s mission to rescue shelter dogs and train them to work as service dogs for disabled veterans.

Howl-O-Ween 5K: Howl-O-Ween 5k is a timed dog-friendly 5k run/walk that benefits the Animal Rescue League of NH. Taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium (1 Line Dr, Manchester, NH) this is a great opportunity to get into the spirit of Halloween in your favorite costume while helping a good cause. Unique to this 5K is that dogs can also register for a timed-bib, and have their results shown with the humans. Proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire which helps over 2,200 animals annually.

Walk for Whiskers: Also on Saturday, October 19, 2019 is the Walk for Whiskers taking place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mines Fall Park in Nashua, NH. You will have your choice of a 3K or 5K route for you, your dog, and family. Not to worry, this is not a race. Instead enjoy the beauty of the fall foliage at your own pace. There will also be a Halloween costume comPAWtition for you and your dog, as well as music, children’s activities, and vendors. Proceeds to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.
