If you happen to be in New Hampshire next weekend, please consider showing your support for Hero Pups. Due to restrictions on large gatherings, the American Legion Riders Post 90’s annual Hero Pups Ride motorcycle event had to be canceled. However, instead they will be accepting donations to Hero Pups on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 32 Harriman Hill Road, Raymond, NH.
They are asking for donations from Hero Pups’ wish list of Purina Puppy Chow, Purina Dog Chow (green bag), towels, blankets, collars, leashes, crates, pupperoni, child safety gates, and outside gates (min 4′ high x 3′ wide). You can stay in your vehicle and a volunteer will gladly accept your donation. Or you are welcome to drop off your donation while following social distancing guidelines. If you’d like to donate but do not want to attend, please visit their website at RidersRaymond.com.
Hero Pups places dogs with veterans and first responders. Their focus is on veterans who are dealing with post traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety and service-connected challenges. They also train dogs to work as police comfort dogs to help people that have been the victim of a crime, have experienced a traumatic event, reduce stress during difficult times and build community relations. They achieve this by training shelter and rescue pups whenever possible. While they are based in New Hampshire, this all volunteer organization serves veterans and first responders from around New England.
