Avast me hearties. Once the desire for treasure gets into your soul you cannot shake the urge to find it. Such is the case with Asa. For 4 long years he’s been on a quest to find the fabled untold riches hidden by pirates along the coast of Maine. Many a night Asa has dreamed of finding it, and has spent every opportunity searching, never realizing treasure was closer than he ever imagined.

He’s dug countless holes on the beaches of Maine, but alas only found shells and rocks.

Asa even convinced me to help scour the rugged coastline of Maine, meticulously exploring every cave we’ve stumbled upon.

Once he thought for certain that we found a treasure map to lead us to fulfilling his destiny.

However, all it lead us to was an obvious trap. Did they seriously expect an expert treasure hunter such as Asa would believe that the other dogs at this beach wouldn’t have noticed this big X?

Recently Asa discovered that treasure could be hidden in plain sight all along. How did he never notice before this ethereal X on our kitchen floor? Alas though, Mom won’t let him dig up the tiles, so his quest continues.

However, little does Asa realize he’s already found the treasure. As Jack Handey, once pondered, “It’s funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating.”
