I Pawed. I Nudged. I Stomped. I Will Not Be Denied.

We almost starved! We came dangerously close to not having breakfast! Dad got up really early today. I’m talking “Asa early.” Dad was up at 4:00 AM! He’s never up that early! Meanwhile he told Asa to be very quiet, so Mom could sleep-in. Dad knew it was going to be a long day for all of us, and wanted Mom to get her rest. As for our rest, well as usual he was very inconsiderate.

When Mom eventually woke up, she could see evidence that Dad took us for our walk, and he left a note saying he gave Asa his eye drops. Based on that, Mom incorrectly assumed he fed us too. You know what they say, “when you assume, you make a dog starve!” Alright, that may not be what “they” say, but they should because it almost happened.

I pawed. I nudged. I whimpered. I stomped. But Mom went about her morning oblivious to my plight. It wasn’t until Asa, who never complains about such things, quietly stood staring at our empty bowl stand, that Mom realized her almost tragic mistake. We were finally fed breakfast! Alright, again based on the fact Dad was up so very early, we were technically fed on time. But that is just a mere coincidence. Therefore, to be on the safe side, I’m going to start reminding Mom to feed us our 5:00 dinner starting at Noon today.

Chuck Billy, has it ever occurred to you that your daily dinner tantrums are the reason Mom ignored you during this crisis?
