Imaginary Friend Or Foe

Uh oh, it looks like Asa had a disagreement with his Imaginary Friend again.  I just don’t understand why those two can’t get along?  But every day it is the same thing.  Asa will be happily playing in the living room, then he will notice his Imaginary Friend who likes to hang out in the pellet stove, and after a few friendly sniffs the barking will commence.  The thing is his Imaginary Friend is a happy little chap, and won’t so much as make a sound.  But I can see by the look on his face that he is upset with Asa’s barking.  I do hope they work out their differences soon.

Lemmy also had a troubled relationship with his Imaginary Friend.  For many years Lemmy was an only puppy, and would long for someone to play with him.  That is until one day when he discovered his Imaginary Friend lived in the oven!  Each day he would bounce in front of the oven trying to entice his new friend to play, but alas the friend was shy and would never leave the oven window.  Even when he pawed at it, the Imaginary Friend would just mimic Lemmy’s moves, but would never leave his safe home.  Luckily Lemmy eventually got me as a brother, and no longer had to waste time on this aloof friend.

As for me, my Imaginary Friend is the best!  He likes to hang out in the living room window, and is always there for me in the afternoon when I need someone to talk to.  He’s a very good listener, and never passes judgement on what I say.  Rather he just quietly listens to my profound thoughts, and learns from my wisdom.  Speaking of which, I have a new idea on Asa’s homeschooling that I think I’ll run by him.  Yep, my Imaginary Friend really is the best!

A rare moment when Asa is getting along with his Imaginary Friend.
