Inspiration from the Cadbury Bunny Cat

Recently Grandma excitedly called to tell me that the winner of Cadbury Bunny tryouts is a cat with one eye! After “an impressive number of votes,” Crash won over the hearts of people across the country to win the coveted spot in the 2023 Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial. In fact, Crash is the first cat to serve as the iconic Cadbury Bunny!

Crash received his name after surviving a “devastating” accident that left him with critical injuries, including the loss of an eye. Thankfully, the executive director of the animal shelter, Simply Cats, in Boise Idaho, was there and rushed him to an animal hospital. Six surgeries and a lost eye later, Crash took up residence at the shelter, where his outgoing personality and tricks soon won over the staff, who decided to keep him and make him the shelter’s ambassador.

When the staff heard that this year’s Cadbury Bunny tryouts were looking for a rescue pet, they knew instantly that Crash was the perfect spokesbunny among the thousands of entries. The 8 year old orange and white, one-eyed rescue cat won $5,000 for himself, as well as $5,000 for the shelter of his choice, which I’m guessing will be Simply Cats. You can see Crash’s audition video, as well as read his amazing story of overcoming the odds to win hearts everywhere at DogoNews.com.

I have to be honest. I try to be brave, but there are days when my tail droops while adapting to my new life with one eye due to GRPU. However, after learning that despite everything Crash has been through, he didn’t slow down. Instead his zest for life came shining through, making him a star. Therefore neither will losing my eye slow me down! Look out world! I’m just getting started!

Congratulations Crash, and thank you for the inspiration that anything is possible if you just be yourself!
