Keeping Car Rides Smelling Fresh and Clean

Although Dad and I disagree on which is better, new car smell vs eau de dog, there is one thing we can agree on – no one wants the car to smell like poop! Unfortunately though a lot of the trails we hike don’t have trash receptacles, and require us to bring it on car rides with us. Luckily, we have a solution! So while Dad and I continue to work out our differences, join us for a stroll down memory lane with our recommendation on how to keep a car smelling fresh.

Aright on the Go Solution (June 2022)

There is a reason why Asa has earned the nickname of Sir Poops A. Lot. When out enjoying adventures he likes to answer nature’s call…a lot! Now considering most of the trails we visit are carry out, and do not have trash receptacles, this could leave us with a stinky predicament for the ride home. I say “could” because we have an airtight solution for what to do when we have to bring the bags of poop along on our car ride. We keep a thermos in our car!

Now I know what you’re thinking, sure a refreshing drink after a hike is good, but how will a thermos help with the stink? We do NOT use it to carry drinks. Instead we use it to seal the bags of poop in an airtight container! Just drop the offensive bags inside, tighten the cap, and you can all enjoy a long ride home without smelling a thing! No more tying the bags to the back wiper where it will inevitably fall off. No more putting it in the far back of the car where the scent can soon fill the entire vehicle. No more double bagging in some “fresh scent” product and hoping for the best. Just seal it up in a thermos and go!

Now I admit our thermos is small, and we should have bought a larger one. But in our defense, Dad came up with this idea during the brief period when I was an only dog, after Lemmy and before Asa. So we really should invest in a bigger one now, because on long road trips we do have to stop occasionally to find a trash receptacle to empty it, before Asa makes another deposit. Also it is important that you assign only one human the all important task of remembering to empty it after a road trip. We learned that lesson the hard way, but surprisingly didn’t smell a thing the entire extended time it was in there!

Dogs, not picking up after pets is one of the top reasons we get banned from places. So make it easier and stink-free to carry it home with you, by investing in a good airtight thermos! This summer don’t drive around with a stinky poop bag. Just seal it and go!

We definitely need a bigger thermos for you, Sir Poops A. Lot.
Asa: Did you have to share my embarrassing nickname? Chuck Billy: I’m sorry. Everyone listen up! Please don’t embarrass Asa by calling him Sir Poops A. Lot! Instead call Asa, Slappy McCrappy! Asa: Gee thanks, Chuck Billy. You’re a real pal. *sigh*
