Last Night’s Creepy Crawly Nightmare

Last night Mom kissed us goodnight, and then laid down in her bed. As she drifted to sleep she felt something tickle her face. She touched it, and realized instantly that there was a tick on her face! She sprang from her bed to dispose of it, thankful that it hadn’t bit her yet. After a quick, but thorough, tick check on herself, she grabbed our brush and ran into our room to recheck us for ticks. Mom and Dad did their usual tick check on us after dinner, but perhaps we picked up more on our last trip out? Thankfully no ticks were found, and Mom tried to go back to bed.

However, she still could not rest easy! Up she sprang from the bed multiple times, with that creepy crawly feeling to check again for ticks. She then woke Dad, who somehow managed to sleep through this so far, and announced that she must change the sheets and bedding! Groggy and confused, Dad headed into our room to sleep, while Mom went on her late night cleaning spree. With the offensive bedding off and in the basement, and new clean sheets and blankets on the bed, Mom finally settled down for the night. But as she drifted off to sleep she couldn’t help but hear in her head Asa’s 2022 parody of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mr. Crowley.”

Creepy crawly, there’s a tick on my head
Oh creepy crawly, are there more in my bed?
You waited for me hidin’ in tall grass
With the thrill of the hunt
Please find someone your size to harass
Yeah, you dangerous little runt!

Mr. Asa, did you think you were friends?
Yes Mr. Asa, this tick could be your end!
Injecting you with his disease
While stealing your blood
The thought of ticks make me ill at ease
Hiding in our fur like crud!

Creepy crawly, you make me squirm with fear
Oh creepy crawly, I wish you’d disappear!
No hiking for us ’til you’re all gone
Too many to fight
You’re even waiting before dawn
Pouncing ready to take a bite!

Well did you find me by my sweet scent?
I want to stop the torment
I want to stop
I want to stop the torment, yeah!

Asa will you please stop singing that song! Just the thought of it makes me feel creepy crawly!
