Lemmy’s Attempt at a Summer Job

In honor of Labor Day Weekend, I thought I’d share with you this email my big brother Lemmy wrote to his biological Mom, Butter, back on Labor Day in 2011.  Apparently his attempt at getting a summer job didn’t go so well.  But he was only 5 years old at the time…not to mention a dog, so good for him for trying!

Dear Momma Butter,

Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weather! Since I’m maturing, I thought I should look into getting a job this summer. First I explored being a search and rescue dog. But unfortunately I wasn’t very good at it, and kept swimming off with just Dad’s lifejacket. Next I tried my paw at being a sheep dog. But soon realized it was impossible for me to look mean for any length of time. Besides, even these fake sheep scared me! Finally I thought for sure being a K9 officer was the job for me! But something went horribly wrong in the background check. I blame Aunt Pansy and her minions; guilt by association. Speaking of Aunt Pansy, is she planning another pool party this weekend? Because it looks like I won’t be working this Labor Day!

Happy start of Fall!

Tail Wags,

Lemmy

Although Lemmy looked handsome in his lifeguard uniform, he was easily distracted.
Lemmy’s attempt at a “mean face” even made wooden sheep laugh, never mind real ones!
I’m very curious to know what they found in Lemmy’s background check to warrant putting him on a Wanted Poster!
