In case you haven’t heard, Maine will be represented in the big game on Sunday! No I’m not talking about the Super Bowl, I’m talking about the Puppy Bowl! For the second year in a row, a puppy from Maine has been chosen to play in the Puppy Bowl starting lineup! Best yet, you can help cheer on this pup while supporting other shelter dogs in Maine at the Puppy Bowl XV viewing party on Sunday, February 3, 2019, hosted by the Little Tap House!
Representing Maine in Animal Planet’s 2019 Puppy Bowl lineup is Flora from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP). Flora, a staffordshire terrier/boxer mix, arrived at the ARLGP in August from a partnership with a Georgia-based rescue. In the fall she made the big trip to NYC to show off her quick moves and fancy paw-work in the big game, earning her a spot in the official Team Fluff starting lineup. Following that whirlwind of events, today Flora is enjoying her retirement from the spotlight with her adoptive family in Maine. However, she hasn’t forgotten her friends at ARLGP, and recently dropped by the shelter for a visit.
Flora and her friends at ARLGP invite you to join them in cheering her on at a special Puppy Bowl viewing party at the Little Tap House (106 High Street, Portland, ME). When Puppy Bowl airs from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, stop by Little Tap House and grab a beer to celebrate the best showdown of the day. All sales of Allagash White will be donated to the ARLGP to support Flora’s friends while they wait for their forever homes.
