Support veterans suffering from PTSD while enjoying great local bands at the SFC Richard Tarmy Memorial Show of Progressive Metal Tributes, this Sunday, May 19, 2019. Proceeds to benefit Chris’ Pets for Vets, #22Kill Boston, and Honor Flight New England.
Some of the best local artists from around New England are coming together to showcase all your favorite progressive metal songs, as they pay tribute to SFC Richard Tarmy. They will be performing music from
Dream Theatre, Fates Warning, Lamb of God, Opeth, Riot, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rush, Mudvayne, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Tool, Halestorm, Metal Church, Yngwie and so much more!
Among the performers will be Mike Tarmy, brother of SFC Richard Tarmy. Reflecting on his brother’s life, Mike said, “Rick was in his 21st year and still enlisted when he died. He was sent to Iraq, Kosovo, Qatar, Germany, and South Korea… He was part of the Iraq Freedom. He received 3 bronze stars, and was a sharpshooter, drill sergeant, and platoon leader.” More importantly, Rick was a good man who wouldn’t hesitate to reach out and help those in need. Mike’s band, Cryin’ Shame, will be performing “21 Gun Salute” in memory of his brother, Rick.
The SFC Richard Tarmy Memorial Show of Progressive Metal Tributes will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at Wally’s (144 Ashworth Ave., Hampton, NH). Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Proceeds will benefit Chris’ Pets for Vets, #22Kill Boston, and Honor Flight New England. Chris’ Pets for Vets is a program of Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund, partnering with local rescue shelters to provide companion pets to current and former military. #22Kill is a global movement created by veterans with a mission to honor those who serve(d), raise awareness to veteran suicide and mental health issues such as PTSD, educate the public about current veteran-related topics and issues, recruit Veteran Advocates aka “Battle Buddies,” and support various veteran empowerment programs. Honor Flight New England‘s mission is to transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices, with top priority given to America’s most senior heroes — survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit their memorial.
