Old Farm Point Shorefront Park, Lubec, Maine

We conclude our virtual tour of the Bold Coast of Maine with a visit to Old Farm Point Shorefront Park in Lubec, Maine. This 16 acres park offers open fields, scenic views of Lubec and Johnson Bay, and has access to a small rocky beach. Best of all, it allows dogs off-leash.

On the day we visited, we did a quick loop on the approximately 1 mile mowed trail, before heading off to nearby Klondike Mountain. Mom took time though to read the kiosk with the interesting history of the Atlantic Herring fishing industry. Old Farm Point is a working hayfield, managed for both recreational use and farming. It is also part of Cobscook Shores paddle trail for dogs interested in a kayaking adventure.

Dogs are allowed off-leash under owner’s control. Please help keep this park clean by always picking up after your pet. Parking is available on North Lubec Road, just look for the sign and kiosk.
