Our Friendly Competition of Fetch Is Back

Want to know the best part about the recent snowstorm? I have my fetch buddy back! Although we use a brightly colored ball year round, Asa sometimes has difficulty tracking it to play. Don’t get me wrong. He still has enough vision to enjoy playing the game. However, there are times Asa gets frustrated, what with me being faster and him not always being able to track the ball. But there is something magical about snow, that makes the contrast perfect for him to see the ball, and the snow slows me down just enough that we can have our friendly competition of fetch again!

Also on the off chance that I miss it, and it gets lost in the fluffy snow, the game resumes much faster thanks to Asa’s new superpower of being able to sniff out the ball! The majority of the time, he’s the one who finds it first, which makes him very happy. And I’m happy to get the game started again, after the delay to find it.

Alright, I admit I do get jealous when Asa gets the ball first.

Especially when he has snow covering his goggles! Now that’s just showing off!

But for the record, I’m still faster and get it the most.

Regardless though, I’m just happy for the opportunity for a friendly competition of fetch with my brother.

Thanks Mother Nature! Asa really needed this morale boost! And to be honest, our whole family did.
