Asa likes to be helpful around house. Case in point he’s always picking up socks when he finds them. So after watching Mom slowly chipping away at her spring cleaning to-do list, Asa decided he’d help her tidy up. Or at least he thought he was helping.
When emptying the bathroom wastebasket, Mom noticed one of Dad’s old socks in it. Dad has needed to stop insisting on wearing the really worn ones and throw them away for awhile now. Therefore, Mom assumed Dad was finally parting with one of his hole riddled socks. Off to the garbage it went.
However, later when folding the laundry, Dad was perplexed that he was missing a sock. Mom said she thought it was odd he only threw out one and not a pair. Confused, Dad replied, “I didn’t throw out any socks.”
Well long story short, Asa took it upon himself to put the sock in the bathroom wastebasket. Thus helping Mom with her spring cleaning, and also perhaps giving Dad a not so subtle hint that he agrees with Mom that he needs new socks! And yes, Mom did have to convince Dad NOT to go through the garbage to retrieve it!
Oh and in case you’re wondering, Dad’s socks aren’t the only ones Asa helps to tidy up. When will they learn not to leave them in the laundry bag!
