Put a Dog on It

I think I may have accidentally created a monster.  Don’t get me wrong.  I take great pride in seeing my goofy little brother transform from a floppy puppy embarrassed being the center of attention, to a dog who proudly sits and accepts his celebrity status.  However, Asa is taking it to extremes by insisting the paving stones stacked in our driveway is his new pedestal.  I do agree with him that now Mom and Dad can wander great distances and still be able to see him.  I also agree with Asa’s argument that it makes him easier to spot by adoring fans passing by our house.  But he looks so ridiculous perched up there!

However, I suppose if it helps Mom and Dad with their sit/stay training, I can let Asa’s inflated ego slide this time.  Also I admit with Asa sitting on top of those pavers, he’s vastly improved that eyesore in our driveway.  Just like that Portlandia skit, “Put a Bird on It,” who would have guessed that by simply putting a dog on it, Asa could spruce up a pile of bricks and make it pretty?  I think he even managed to buy Dad more time on that unfinished project.  However, I can’t help but feel annoyed that I didn’t think of sitting up there first!
