To get your clues to the treasure visit DirigoTreasuresMaine.com. There you can purchase a set of playing cards that each feature a unique landmark in Maine. Some you will immediately recognize from our Dog Friendly Places reviews. Other cards have even us old sea dogs baffled. But have no fear! The cards come with a puzzle manual, with additional clues to help you decipher the code, which will lead you to 7 Dirigo Stones hidden around the state. Once located the combined message of the Dirigo Stones will reveal the treasure’s location!

According to the creators, they wanted a fun way to encourage people to explore the great state of Maine! This treasure hunt will not only lead to financial riches, but it also will show people Maine’s real treasure of its “physical beauty, geographical diversity, hard-working people, and rich cultural and historical tapestry.” Best yet, proceeds from the sale of this game are being donated to Maine Cancer Foundation and Maine Rivers.
