Today our resident rockstar, Asa, is getting in touch with his more romantic side with this poem dedicated to a winter puppy’s first love, snow. Our sincere apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning, for what Asa is about to do to her famous poem, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
Snow, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My tail can reach, when wagging at first sight
For the end of seeing grass is ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of the fence’s
Most highest peak, that keeps me safe from flight.
I love thee freely, as I dance with delight;
I love thee purely, just like your untainted white.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old toys, and with my squeaky ball.
I love thee with a love that makes me ignite
With zoomies. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, wags, of all my life; and, if Mother Nature choose,
I shall but love thee better in summer.
