The Grass Is Always Greener on the Living Room Rug Hypothesis

It has been awhile since I’ve conducted any science experiments as part of Asa’s homeschooling. However, thanks to a conversation between Mom and Dad, I have the perfect hypothesis to explore! In a rare state of optimism, over the rainy weekend Dad decided to spread some grass seeds in the backyard, in an attempt to grow a lush green lawn. In response, Mom theorized that it would probably be easier to grow grass on our living room rug. Challenge Accepted!

We began our experiment by collecting as many grass seeds as we could on our paws…

…and in our fur.

We then repeated the process to release the seeds on the living room rug. Making sure that the conditions were right with plenty of sun.

I wanted to add more soil to the rug, but Mom insisted that after 14 years, the rug already has enough dirt embedded in it, that we didn’t need to add any with our paws.

Now for the hard part. Watching the grass grow…

Stay tuned as we wait to see if Mom’s hypothesis of the Grass Is Always Greener on the Living Room Rug is correct!

At least this is more exciting than Chuck Billy’s watching the paint dry experiment with Lemmy in 2013.
