The One that Got Away: My Fish Tale

Some people can look at a cloud and see bunny. Others have found Elvis on a piece of toast. Well you can’t begin to imagine my surprise when I looked at Dad’s breaded fish and clearly saw a dog looking back at me!

This was my chance for fame and fortune! I can just imagine me making the talk show circuit sharing my amazing find. First I would be on the Today Show with Hoda and Jenna to share my unique discovery. They no doubt would be so captivated by my wit and charm that they’d invite me to stick around for their cooking segment. Maybe they’d even ask me to share Mom’s recipe for making breaded fish. Better yet, maybe they would ask me to become the official taste tester for all their cooking segments!

After that it would be on to the Kelly Clarkson Show. A breaded fish shaped like a dog is perfect for her “What I’m Liking” segment. Kelly is a dog lover, so I’m sure she’d invite me to sit on her big comfy couch, unlike at home where there’s a four paws on the floor rule.

That evening I’d borrow a few of Asa’s jokes, and make my way over to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. I know stand up is more of Asa’s thing, but I can’t let people be distracted from my amazing find. After all, with the publicity I will receive, there would undoubtedly be a bidding war amongst people who collect weird food things. And with the money from the highest bidder I could finally invest in my rocket ship to pursue my research as a Dog Ufologist!

My dog shaped breaded fish!
Asa’s artistic rendering of the dog fish. Although personally, I see the head more of a side profile.
Sadly though while I was daydreaming to catch my chance for fame and fortune, Dad ate the breaded fish shaped like a dog! Humans have no sense of imagination.
