Tremors at the Thought of What Is Lurking

Ruh! Roh! I may have been too quick to assume in yesterday’s post that the mysterious visitor was here to help us. Last evening, while on routine neighborhood patrol, Asa discovered mysterious tracks on the edge of our property. To Dad’s untrained eyes, he dismissed it as a tire track. But I, the renowned Dog Ufologist, knows ginormous underground snake tracks when I see them! Well that and I’ve watched the Kevin Bacon movie, Tremors, a few times too.

It all makes sense! The Man in Black, who arrived in the strange vehicle with the giant hose, wasn’t removing the aliens from the top secret subterranean extraterrestrial facility hidden beneath my backyard. He was adding Graboids, what they called the giant snakes in the movie! Or maybe he was feeding the alien snakes to keep them happy in their secret bunker! Either way, these tracks along the side of the road do not bode well. Everyone knows snakes are my kryptonite!

Why did I ignore the basic premise of another movie, Men in Black, in which the secret organization that monitors aliens uses neuralyzers to erase the memories of anyone who witnesses their activities? I should have known that man in the black hoodie wasn’t here to help, based on the fact he ignored me! Who ignores a Golden Retriever? Also another obvious sign I missed that something was suspicious was neither Mom or Dad mentioned the strange visitor and carried on as usual. They even joked that the pungent smell was Asa’s fault! Although ordinarily that would be the most likely cause, but I digress. Clearly they don’t remember his visit! But I remember!

Now the question is what to do? In Tremors, by the time they are discovered, the alien snakes are already ginormous and on the attack. All is quiet here, so at least I have time on my side, but for how long? Hopefully at least 1 hour and 36 minutes, so I can rewatch Tremors, and take notes.

Asa: Ever get the idea that Chuck Billy watches way too many UFO movies? Maybe I should do my own experiment and slip another Kevin Bacon movie into the mix, Footloose, and see how Chuck Billy reacts!
