After months of waiting I am sad to report Dad’s Mother’s Day gift for our Mom is a washout. He wanted to make a big splash by giving her what all women want as a gift, namely a pressure washer! And not just any pressure washer. One that came with special attachments to clean the gutters! Not to brag, but he soaked a lot of money into this gift. However, as weeks turned to months, our hope for the pressure washer to ever arrive went from a strong current, to a trickle, to stagnant.

At first the friendly voice on the other end of the phone said the pressure washer would be available any day now to be picked up. Then a few weeks later a less enthusiastic voice said it was on backorder, but it was sure to be there by mid-June. Then finally a grouchy voice last week said, “call the local distributor.” That distributor wasn’t at all about to go with the flow, and alas Dad’s dream of a perfect gift was washed away.

But we won’t let this setback rain on Mom’s parade! If there’s one thing we know it is Dad never succumbs to pressure! So rather than let our hopes go down the drain, Dad came up with a new and even better gift for Mom! Her belated Mother’s Day gift is gutter guards!

If you recall, Dad gave Mom gutters as a Christmas gift a couple years ago. Oh I can still remember the expression on Mom’s face when he surprised her with that early Holiday present. Kind of like the look she is giving us now with this belated gift!
